๐Ÿ” What is RTI?

RTI (Right to Information) is a fundamental right of every Indian citizen under the RTI Act, 2005. It empowers you to request information from any public authority, including government departments, police, municipal bodies, schools, and more.

✅ What Information Can You Ask?

  • ๐Ÿ“ Details of government schemes & funds
  • ๐Ÿ—️ Status of public works or construction

๐Ÿ› ️ How to File an RTI?

  1. ✍️ Write an application on plain paper (or use prescribed format)
  2. ๐Ÿ“Œ Address it to the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the department
  3. ๐Ÿ’ณ Attach ₹10 as application fee (via postal order/cash/UPI in some states)
  4. ๐Ÿ“ฎ Send it via Speed Post or Online RTI portalrtionline.gov.in

⏱️ When Will You Get a Reply?

๐Ÿ“… The PIO must reply within 30 days of receiving the application. If it's related to life or liberty, the reply must come within 48 hours.

๐Ÿšซ What if You Don’t Get a Response?

  • ๐Ÿ“ข File a First Appeal to the Appellate Authority
  • ๐Ÿ“จ Second Appeal can be filed with the Central or State Information Commission
